- In 1999 John competed at his first
ever ANDRA drag racing event, in a rear engine dragster
powered by a 350 small block chevy.
- Throughout his first drag racing season John competed
at several events. But unfortunately the purpose built
drag racing track in Sydney closed later that year,
leaving John without a home track.
